By learning the techniques and principles of bonsai cultivation, you will unlock the secrets to creating and maintaining these living works of art. From selecting the right tree species to mastering the intricate process of shaping and pruning, you will find yourself immersed in a meditative and rewarding practice.
This ancient art form offers endless possibilities for creativity and expression. Start your bonsai gardening adventure through this hands-on class and watch as your passion blossoms into a tranquil oasis of beauty and harmony.
Participants will walk away with their own Juniper Bonsai. During the class attendees will repot, begin pruning, and learn how to care for their new bonsai.
Class instructors, Bethel Elledge and Jacob Gerber are long-time friends and bonsai enthusiasts. They were inspired by the art of bonsai early in their friendship. After self-educating with books and the internet, they found a mentor named Raymond Hernandez at Bent Tree Bonsai.
Mr. Hernandez taught them about digging up wild trees, propagation, caring for various tree species, and sharing the love of bonsai. Their bond grew stronger as they learned through conventions and cookouts. Despite Mr. Hernandez's passing, they continue to honor his memory by sharing his knowledge with others. Join Bethel & Jacob during this class, full of laughter and joy, where they will pass down Mr. Hernandez's wisdom and celebrate the art of bonsai.
