Journey to Wellness Rose Jordan

Rose Jordan

Rose is an ambidextrous ambivert who loves the outdoors, all things creative, and telling the stories of Mineral Wells. In addition to being the Director of Tourism in Mineral Wells, she’s also a painter and a writer and Christian communicator for Beneath The Fig Tree.
She’s combined the practice of journal-keeping with creative expression to cultivate what she calls creative journaling and is excited to share it with you.

Creative Journaling for Mindfulness & Reflection

Journaling doesn’t have to be about just words. And it doesn’t have to be used just to record your thoughts at the end of the day.
Creative Journaling combines the art of journal-keeping with various methods of creativity to help you slow your mind and make space for mindfulness and reflection. Journaling gives a voice to your thoughts and ideas and adding creative elements allows you to process your thoughts from the left side of your brain where creative solutions, dreaming, and strategy comes from.

Participants will receive a journal and supplies.

The stress response is important in keeping us safe from danger. It is designed to be activated for up to 30 minutes every 2-3 days. We however, live in a culture of chronic stress where the stress response is activated all the time. Chronic stress reactions can take a toll on our psychology and our physiology. In this program Dr. Carla Hay Perdue will guide the participants in exploring the three principle paradigm that leads to resilience. We will also explore how this awareness can lead to a quieter mind and decreased the feelings of stress.

Contemplative Walk

Labyrinths have been around for thousands of years. Often mistaken for mazes, designed to trap and confuse, a labyrinth's purpose is to calm and clarify. They achieve this by having only one path, one way in and one way out.

Bridgette will lead a guided contemplative walk through the newly built Clark Gardens labyrinth to clear your mind and recharge your soul.

Krista specializes in teaching people how to regulate and heal their nervous systems by combining ancient yogic movements and breaths with functional movement training that targets the physical and energetic bodies. Unlocking stuck energy in the body with breath and movement is where the healing begins increasing our capacity to handle the inevitable ups and downs of life as we learn to speak the language of the body again. Krista gently guides her students through the ups and downs that come with healing by providing tailored physical practices, prayers, meditations and spiritual guidance that comes from a place of love for the soul and wanting to be expressed through the body/bodies she's working with. Krista teaches group and 1:1 classes in Mineral Wells where she lives full time.

Class Description

Join Krista for an embodied yoga practice that focuses on cultivating the felt sense in the body by focusing on accessible functional movement. Dig in and tap into the innate intelligence present in the body through connecting breath and movement. We will end the practice with a 15 minute sound bath.
