Tucked among the trees and winding garden paths, the G-scale model trains at Clark Gardens have become a favorite stop for visitors of all ages.
Follow the tracks as trains travel through the landscape, crossing bridges, passing streams and weaving in and out of Clark Station. Along the way, the miniature railway becomes part of the garden itself—surrounded by rock, water, plants and towering trees.
Tucked among the trees and winding paths of Clark Gardens, model trains make their way through a world all their own—crossing bridges, passing streams, and traveling in and out of Clark Station.
The G-scale railway has long been a favorite stop for visitors of all ages, combining the fun of model trains with the landscape of the Gardens. Follow the tracks outside, then step into Clark Station to discover miniature towns, railroad displays, and pieces of local history waiting inside.
The journey continues inside Clark Station, where the trains travel through miniature recreations of Mineral Wells and Weatherford from the days when the railroad connected these North Texas communities.
Look closely and you'll find familiar pieces of local history recreated in miniature, from train depots and historic buildings to the towns that grew up around the railroad.
Some of the miniature buildings bring a little of the Gardens indoors, too. Natural materials—including acorns, seeds, grapevine tendrils, cinnamon sticks, and pinecone scales—were used to create many of the tiny architectural details.
It’s a place worth slowing down for. The closer you look, the more there is to discover.
Outside Clark Station, the railway becomes part of the landscape.
The trains wind through their own corner of Clark Gardens, traveling beneath towering trees, across bridges and trestles, alongside streams, and through tunnels before making their way in and out of the station.
As you follow the tracks, miniature buildings and railroad scenes appear among the rocks and plantings, creating a little world tucked right into the Gardens.
And because the railway changes along with the landscape around it, there's always another detail waiting around the bend.
The model trains operate during Clark Gardens' spring and fall seasons, giving visitors a chance to see the railway come to life as they explore the Gardens.

Train operation is weather dependent, and trains do not run during rain. If seeing the trains is an important part of your visit, we recommend checking with us before you come.
Love model trains? Each fall, Clark Gardens welcomes model railroad enthusiasts and visitors for our annual Model Train Show, when even more layouts, trains, and railroad displays come to the Gardens for a weekend dedicated to all things trains.
